Kentucky and Louisville square off at noon that day, but John Calipari isn’t exactly thrilled with that part of the Wildcats’ schedule. In an interview on Tuesday, he was asked if he’d have his players practice over the Christmas break.

The answer was a resounding no, and perhaps a little dig at the Cats’ cross-town rival? Well, maybe not.

“Everybody goes crazy, ‘Why wouldn’t you practice over Christmas to get ready for Louisville?’ Because I’m not worried about Louisville,” he said. “I’m worried about my family and these kids’ families.”

“I know how good Louisville is and I think these guys having time off, it’s better for them.”
