Activision has maintained its tradition of offering a fine FPS game with its latest release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 which exhibited its launch trailer. Will it redefine its genre? One finds out…

October is turning out to be the month of guns and glory. Even as gamers are going about in their usual ways totting them at their favorite villains, comes in the new launch trailer of ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’. Activision’s yearly installment has come out with its final show just before the actual launch of the game which would be released on November 13, 2012.

Set in the year 2025, the game brings to light a new world where the world is redefined by the advent of technology. And the chief antagonist uses the unmanned weapons created by America against itself. It is a distinct possibility considering the spurt in weapons race among nations. The game has had a steady progress of information regarding the various multiplayer coops and its enhanced weapons arsenal, maintaining its tempo regarding the launch and the launch trailer, the final stroke from Activision justifies its abilities as a leader in FPS games.

In the latest edition, Alex Mason plays the role of chief protagonist and the storyline moves between the settings of the Cold War and the future where an adversary from the past comes back to set up a war between China and America. And to make matters worse, now the soldiers have to battle the machines made by their own country. The final trailer in the series really shows the sheer impact of the game which is bundled with state-of-the-art visual effects and delves into the various settings within the game. One can even indulge in mid-air battles while swimming across the ‘atmosphere’ with a gryphon-like attack glider. And if that is not all, the preview also shows the various kinds of attack vehicles deployed in the actual game play. Not to miss is the Hollywood-like realism which has been a part of the franchise for quite some time now.

There is a review right in the middle of the trailer which mentions ‘Poised to Blow you Away’ and one could not agree more at this point. And yes, if you have not made up your mind yet, Activision takes extra care to project the Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map which would be part of the pre-order pack. The multiplayer has been one of the highlights of the Call of Duty series and the latest edition would not be lagging behind in maintaining the creditability of the series. Also, the gaming company has even offered the Call of Duty: Elite along with pre-order version absolutely free. It is also offering a free access to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Double XP Launch Weekend as well. And yes, while you are still considering the purchase of the game, do remember it also has the delectable Zombies coop as well. All in all, the game’s package is tough to beat and only something as formidable as Halo 4 could only provide a tough fight!
