Much like with Black Ops 3’s three previous packs of DLC dubbed Awakening, Eclipse, and Descent, the shooter’s Salvation expansion will include four separate multiplayer maps, as well as its own entry in the ongoing Zombies plot line. In addition to being the last piece of downloadable content for the game, Revelations will be the finale to the narrative that is also comprised of Der Eisendrache, Zetsubou No Shima, and Gorod Krovi.

As seen in the Black Ops 3 trailer below, Revelations has players taking on the role of the Origins characters once again after having been sent on a mind bending time-travel adventure. Finally, the heroes Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai go toe-to-toe with Doctor Monty in The House in order to not only save their own skin, but also their souls.

Beyond Revelations, Black Ops 3’s four new multiplayer maps will be Citadel, Micro, Outlaw, and Rupture, and they should give fans of the title plenty of variety when it comes to their environments. For instance, Citadel is a medieval castle with a penchant for close-quarters combat and long, narrow hallways, Micro shrinks players down to size for a battle on an actual picnic table, Outlaw re-imagines Black Ops 2’s Standoff map with a wild west theme, and Rupture re-skins World at War’s Outskirts to reflect a futuristic atmosphere.

Black Ops 3 fans looking to purchase Salvation as a standalone will be able to do so at the cost of $15. Of course, should players already own the Season Pass, the forthcoming DLC will be added at no additional charge, while those who have yet to buy all of the expansions in a bundle have the opportunity to shell out $50 for every single bit of the game’s post-launch content.

Next week, starting on September 2, Activision will host its annual Call of Duty XP event featuring the franchise’s World Championship, hands-on previews of the series’ games, news about the titles, and more. Taking that into consideration, it’s quite possible for the publisher to unveil even more information about Black Ops 3’s Salvation DLC at the affair.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is out now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
