Host Geoff Keighley is really drumming up the excitement for an all-digital two-hour-long Gamescom event that is promised to feature more than twenty games with never-before-seen content. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the perfect game to be featured at ONL, given how much hype it’s been getting online.

The game will be officially revealed in Warzone on August 26, and ONL isn’t happening until a full day after the huge in-game event. Details are still fuzzy about what kind of content either event will drop, but it’s probable that they’ll be pretty different given that Keighley is calling the ONL Black Ops Cold War presentation a “world premiere new look.” The mysteriousness of that phrase is serving Keighley well, since it’s drumming up a bunch of speculation and fan theorizing about what will be revealed.

The buildup to the Black Ops Cold War trailer’s discovery and reveal was intense, sending streamers on a hunt for Cold War clues by decoding ciphers, riddles, and diving deep into the Call of Duty games. There’s a ton of new information bombarding fans about the game, and the build-up is getting high enough that the ONL presentation is going to have to be big to keep riding the wave.

There’s a lot of info that the ONL premiere could cover, and while Gamescom could just play an action-packed cinematic to whet players’ appetites for playing the game, it’d be cool to get more information on something like the leaked Black Ops Cold War pre-order bonuses. While fans already have some idea of what to expect there, what could make the ONL reveal really unique is to give players some kind of details they couldn’t get elsewhere. However, everything is just speculation at this point and Keighley is being purposefully cryptic about what angle the ONL event will take.

Black Ops Cold War isn’t the only game getting a hyped-up feature at ONL, as the Doom Eternal Campaign DLC is also getting showcased for the first time at the event. Keighley has promised to cover a wide range of games, from AAA to indie, so this event has a little bit of something for everyone. Fans can tune in on Thursday, August 27 at 11 AM PT to catch new content and exciting looks at some of their favorite upcoming games.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is in development to release later this year.
