As has become a standard late summer occurrence for Call of Duty games, Black Ops Cold War will get an open beta for fans to partake in before the full release. To receive access to the beta, players have a few possible options, and one of them includes watching the Call of Duty League Championship (CDL).

Activision has informed gamers that 10,000 lucky COD fans will receive an early access beta code for the newly revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The process to become eligible is not difficult, but with only 10,000 codes, it will be tough to get in.

How to Earn a Beta Key Watching the CDL

The first thing that players will want to do is log on to CallofDutyLeauge.com, or download and open the COD Companion App. Players will want to create an Activision account at this time, if they haven’t already. Next, log in on the website/app with the Activision account and link said account to PlayStation, Xbox or Battle.net.

Once logged in, fans will want to watch the CDL live on August 29 and August 30 from within CallofDutyLeague.com or the COD Companion App. Players will be able to earn in-game awards, like Calling Cards, but also have their opportunity to be one of the lucky 10,000 to receive the beta code.

How to Earn the Beta Key Outside of the CDL

If someone isn’t one of the 10,000 winners of the beta from watching the CDL, a more guaranteed method exists. Any fan who wants access to the cross-platform Black Ops Cold War multiplayer beta will receive guaranteed early access by pre-ordering any of the three digital editions of Black Ops: Cold War. PS4 players will get to play the beta days earlier.

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, all multiplayer DLC came free and at the same time for players regardless of platform. With DLC being free in Black Ops Cold War as well, it is possible that all the content will be made available at the same time on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series x, and PC.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
