To put things simply, CoD: Black Ops Cold War players will earn their first Prestige upon completion of Military Rank 55. Fans can confirm that this has occurred by checking the icons next to their names, as they will have changed from a military icon to a Prestige icon. They will also find that they have unlocked Season Level 1, which marks the beginning of an entirely new leveling track for players to pursue in this new FPS from Treyarch and Raven Software.

This seasonal progression in Black Ops Cold War gives fans the opportunity to earn additional Prestige Levels, and there are two of them in the ongoing pre-season. Indeed, players can reach Prestige 2 by hitting Season Level 50 and Prestige 3 by hitting Season Level 100, and they will earn stickers, emblems, and Prestige Keys at each of them. Additionally, fans will continue to earn a Prestige Key, which can be used to purchase icons, every 50 levels even if they have already reached maximum Prestige for a season.

To note, the Prestige system in CoD: Black Ops Cold War will change slightly when Season One begins on December 10. More specifically, there will be four Prestige Levels, which will unlock at Season Levels 50, 100, 150, and 200, and players that reach the final one will become a Prestige Master. This designation both changes the color of a fan’s Prestige Level and allows them to customize their icons, making it something that is sure to appeal to many players.

One last thing to say about the Prestige system is that while Season Levels reset at the end of a season, Prestige Levels do not. This means that if a player reaches Prestige 3 in the ongoing pre-season, they will be able to unlock Prestige 4-7 in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One. As such, fans that want to lead the pack on Prestige Levels should plan to grind quite a significant amount of XP every season.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
