When the Zombies teaser started fans noticed immediately that the jingle of the Juggernog machine is playing lightly in the background. This infamous perk from the Zombies franchise is usually one of the first that fans buy as it can provide additional health against zombie attacks. As the camera panned to a very familiar stairwell, fans were quick to identify the map as Nacht der Untoten, a very popular map that has appeared in multiple games. Although the stairwell does appear slightly different as it’s covered in spray paint and graffiti it’s hard to deny that it is the same staircase.

References to a classic map and a classic perk have set fan expectations for the upcoming Zombies game mode fairly high. Fans are hoping that the jingle means the return of traditional perks while the staircase will have fans returning back to a classic map. If the game does take on more classic elements that Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies may be more then just a reskin of an old game mode.

One thing that fans did notice is that the zombies are taking a more WW2 approach with a decayed and rotting texture. Upon the first reveal, many fans were shocked to see such realistic zombie interpretations when normally the Black Ops zombies tend to take a more simple approach to the undead. Still, if the other elements stay true to the classic style fans will no doubt be considering this one of the better installments in the Zombies series.

All that leaves is the actual heroes who will have to survive this new round of Zombie chaos. While it has been confirmed that the original Zombies cast is not returning, fans are left in wonder of who will take the mantle and face off against an ever building horde of undead. Until official answers are released, fans are left dissecting this 12-second clip for any additional information that it may be hiding.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13th for PC, Ps4, Ps5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
