Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s second DLC pack, Continuum, is out now on PlayStation 4, and it adds the Rust remake map Excess along with three brand new multiplayer maps. The Excess map is almost identical to Rust in terms of general layout, but aesthetically it’s quite different from the desert oil yard fans may remember from Modern Warfare 2, instead embracing the new game’s futuristic setting as a “sprawling metropolis.”
The other three maps have interesting themes as well. Archive is set in a futuristic art gallery, Scrap seems to take place on the moon, and Turista is a technologically-advanced resort. All the maps seem to have their own quirks to help them stand apart, though Scrap’s may be the most interesting, as it has gravity-shifting pads that allow players to travel across the map upside down.
Besides adding four new multiplayer maps to the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare experience, the Continuum DLC also introduces a new Zombies map as well. Called Shaolin Shuffle, the new Zombies map features yet another celebrity, 70s movie star Pam Grier, as she slays hordes of the undead with a samurai sword. Styled after kung-fu action movies, Shaolin Shuffle has a bigger focus on melee attacks than any other Call of Duty Zombies map to date.
Between the intriguing Shaolin Shuffle Zombies map and the Rust remake map, the Continuum DLC seems to be giving Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare fans plenty to be excited about. Even so, it remains to be seen if this content will be enough to revitalize interest in the game, which stands as one of the least successful Call of Duty games to date. However, if anything is going to revitalize interest in the most-disliked Call of Duty game in history, bringing back a fan favorite map like Rust may just be it.
