Activision is making a big push for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC, even beyond what it’s delivered with past Call of Duty releases. That starts with offering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 where PC gamers are, so it will be available on both Battle.net and Steam. It also means offering more settings for customization and a better user interface than what’s been previously offered. Of course, a lot of PC gamers’ more traditional expectations are also included.

The trailer highlights certain key features planned for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC. That includes 4K graphics options, as well as support for ultrawide monitors. Attention is also given to Activision’s Ricochet anti-cheat, which offers kernel-level measures to address in-game cheats. The last highlight, and easily the most exciting for PC gamers, is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will feature over 500 settings options, which the trailer shows just a glimpse of.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 trailer is that it will feature a search bar within its settings. Players will be able to search for the settings they want, rather than have to tab through menus hoping to find what they’re looking for. It’s such a simple addition, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 isn’t the first game to do it, but it works well in the context of the trailer.

PC game players shouldn’t be surprised to see Activision taking the PC development of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 seriously, of course. Call of Duty is a massive franchise and is wildly successful across all platforms. There’s no reason it shouldn’t be robustly supported on PC. Being wildly successful doesn’t mean developing a game is easy, though.

It won’t be long before Call of Duty fans will be able to see what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 looks like on PC for themselves. All of these newly supported settings on PC will hopefully match up to an overall incredible visual experience with relatively few bugs.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases October 28 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
