Prestige would also unlock new symbols next to Call of Duty players’ names that indicate this Prestige status, and thereby spoke to the level of skill and dedication on behalf of the player. Each time the player would max level thereafter, they would unlock a new and even more prestigious symbol.
But in 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the game offers an alternative to the classic Prestige system.

Max Level
In the latest installment of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the maximum multiplayer level is now 55. This takes about 960,000 XP to reach, and once the max level is reached players will find that prestige is no longer an option.
Instead, players are given the chance to advance into an Officer Rank. Players’ existing ranks will never reset, and the items Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players enjoy using in combat will never be re-locked.
Officer Ranks
With the Officer Rank system, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players are given a fun challenge for multiplayer that includes a series of 100 ranks to progress through, and each offers its own rewards. This will also give players the chance to get their season rank up to a maximum level of 155.
However, Officer Ranks reset at the beginning of each in-game season, and starts everyone back at level 55.
Challenges and Rewards
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, each Officer Rank unlocks a unique challenge. Completion of these unique challenges awards players with a medal ribbon, accompanied with an XP boost. This system is structured to continue incentivizing players to ascend the ranks even after they’ve maxed out their multiplayer level.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare undoubtedly has an exciting variety of new features on the horizon for multiplayer fans, but the unique Officer Ranking system offers a chance for old and new players alike to share in this new experience.
