The trial comes hot on the heels of news that Infinite Warfare’s sales are flagging when compared last year’s installment of the flagship series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. This decline in sales is due to several factors, not the least the intense hate campaign waged against the futuristic shooter. The people most fervently against the new game seem to be loyal fans of the series that are lashing out against what they see as a misplaced change of setting and a departure from what makes Call of Duty what it is....

Multiplayer modes are arguably the biggest highlight of each COD release, and MW2 will be no exception. An estimated 37,300 customers were without power as of 2:39 a.m. local time (5:39 a.m. ET) on Tuesday across the state, according to Poweroutage.US. Pacific Gas and Electric Company saw the largest number of customers without power. An estimated 17,910 of its 5.5 million customers were without power. Southern California Edison had nearly 6,800 of its 3.4 million customers also cut off. The PowerOutage.US map shows that over 10 percent of customers in the county of Siskiyou were without power early Tuesday morning....

On Wednesday, 65 California State Assembly members voted in favor of AB-32, the new legislation seeking to ban private prisons, while 11 members voted against it. The legislation still needs to be signed by California Governor Gavin Newsom before it can become law, but he is expected to support the ban, given that he himself called for an end to the “outrage of private prisons once and for all” in his inaugural speech in January....

Specifically, the EFF sought training materials regarding the use of automated license plate readers (ALPR), facial recognition technology and use-of-force by officers However, when the EFF tried to access these materials using POST’s open data portal, POST’s documents allegedly declared these materials unavailable due to copyright protections invoked by the companies that had created them. This refusal to furnish documents under copyright claims goes against the California Public Records Act (CPRA), a law that went into effect in 2020 requiring POST to “conspicuously post” all training materials, the EFF claims....

Several guns have been spotted in various leaks and reveal allowing fans a fairly good guess at what weapons will be in the next game. Although no one can be sure of the names due to Call of Duty rebranding several weapons, fans can at least get an idea of what is to come. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has an interesting meta coming into its second season, as the game features a gun in almost every class that is entirely useless. It’s more understandable for there to be issues in a beta, as development is still ongoing. One of the purposes of a beta is for players to find issues and report them to the developers so that they can be fixed before the game’s official release. And though this particular bug is pretty harmless compared to others, it’s one that definitively needs to be removed so that online matches can remain as fair as they possibly can....

What has been confirmed so far is that the first map is Die Maschine, which is a remake of sorts for Nacht der Untoten, the original Zombies map. It allows players to explore a new story and secrets with Soviet-era weaponry and to do so through the eyes of the original Black Ops. Grigoi Weaver from the original game explores a WW2 bunker in position to The Omega Group. Instead of returning or new specific characters, players will use Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer operators, including Frank Woods and more, to explore this Zombies story....

The streak in question should be immediately noticeable to players despite using a different name, as it works exactly like the Advanced UAV from other Call of Duty games. The HARP scorestreak highlights enemies on the map, showing them as arrows so that players can see the direction they are facing. Hovering for 40 seconds, the powerful support streak does not last as long as its predecessors, something that YouTuber PrestigeIsKey highlights in his video on the HARP....
