The first to be on PS5 and Xbox Series X, the broadcast helps to further detail all of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s next-gen console improvements. As shown in the Firebase Z gameplay trailer released yesterday, players will be wielding an Assault Rifle-like Wonder Weapon in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. While weapons like the Scavenger sniper rifle from Call of the Dead and Blunergat shotgun from Mob of the Dead have shown Treyarch’s ability to evolve standard weapon types into Wonder Weapons, this is the developer’s first attempt at an Assault Rifle wonder weapon....

This is hardly the first time that a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War bundle has come with some in-game issues. The side quest is one of several steps being taken to get players fighting into the higher World Tiers quicker. Killstreaks, rewards for killing a certain number of opponents in a row without dying, first became part of Call of Duty with the original Modern Warfare in 2007. Killstreaks were replaced by pointstreaks for Modern Warfare 3 and Ghosts, but have remained consistent since with the added option of switching over to “scorestreak” rewards in Modern Warfare 2. California Governor Gavin Newsom released the latest figures during a news conference on Wednesday afternoon, saying the incidence of new cases reported daily has increased by 69 percent statewide over the last 48 hours. Although Monday’s increase of 4,230 new cases did not set a single-day record, it neared the state’s previous record of 4,515 cases, set on Sunday. As revealed today by Treyarch, the battle royale mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will support 80 players. This number was selected to provide the best gameplay experience possible for players, but it’s possible that it could be changed in the future. Treyarch has confirmed that it has tested Blackout with up to 100 players, and previous reports indicated that the maximum number of players was going to be 60....

Activision has officially announced Nuketown ‘84, the latest iteration of what is easily one of the most popular Call of Duty maps to date. Nuketown ‘84 will likely be functionally identical to the other takes on Nuketown, but with some aesthetic differences. All that’s been shown of Black Ops Cold War’s Nuketown is a bus covered in graffiti and what appears to be sand, so maybe this new version of the map takes place on a beach or in a desert, though that’s just speculation at this time....

Within a blog post on its official website (which is cleverly designed to look like old CIA documents), Alex Mason’s full story is shared with Call of Duty fans. Much of this is already known, such as Mason’s childhood years in Alaska and recruitment into the CIA. This is the same character players took control of in the original Black Ops game, after all, and few differences can be seen when the modern Mason is compared to the original....

The latest Call of Duty: Warzone leak comes from Adi Source from the BlackOpsLeaks Twitter account. A new image shows the familiar Call of Duty: Warzone logo followed by the words Rebirth Island in large letters under it. Behind the text is Alcatraz Island itself, which longtime fans may remember as Rebirth Island from the original Black Ops. With it’s own dedicated promotional image, it appears likely that Rebirth Island will be its own map away from Verdansk....

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Alpha isn’t going to be a small teaser, either. It’s going to be substantial. Included in the Black Ops Cold War Alpha will be multiple different game modes, each with multiple available maps, as well as previews of the first-person shooter’s Create-a-Class and Scorestreak features. There should be more than enough multiplayer content available for Call of Duty fans to make a decision regarding whether to pick up Black Ops Cold War later this year....

Governor Gavin Newsom announced last fall that all cars and passenger trucks sold in the state must be zero-emission by 2035.
