Besides returning six regulars from last year’s NCAA runner-up squad, the Wildcats added four high school All-Americans and begin another season with expectations of another championship. Their frontcourt returns 7-footers Willie Cauley-Stein and Dakari Johnson, along with forwards Marcus Lee and Alex Poythress. Twin 6-6 guards Aaron and Andrew Harrison are back with their length, scoring and floor leadership in the backcourt. Add in recruits Karl-Anthony Towns (6-11), Trey Lyles (6-10), Devin Booker and Tyler Ulis, and the Wildcats could have a 12-player rotation....

Even considering the immense popularity of Nuketown, it’s not every day that a single multiplayer map gets its own dedicated trailer. However, that’s the case with Nuketown, or “Nuk3town” as it is referred to in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The trailer begins by taking players on a trip down memory lane, showing Nuketown as it appeared in Black Ops and Black Ops 2, before cutting to the brand new version of Nuketown as it will appear in Black Ops 3....

Headlining this week’s GameStop sale is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which is available right now for $40 new. Released just this past October, the latest entry in the storied Call of Duty franchise received generally favorable critical reviews and acclaim from fans of the series and newcomers alike. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 being such a new game and one that’s selling reasonably well, seeing it discounted over 30% is a bit of a surprise....

At the time of this writing, Activision hasn’t yet officially revealed the private beta dates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, but a recent posting by GameStop Germany seemingly reveals an August time period. It hasn’t been picked up by other retailers, so this should be taken with a grain of salt. However, it is worth noting that this time period isn’t without basis. Both Treyarch’s Black Ops 3 and Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty: WW2 had private betas in August in the years of their respective release....

The new Twitter image is accompanied by some text that reads: “Don’t worry, we know some people . . . which has its perks. . .” The image itself shows four perks that will presumably be featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and while we can’t say for sure what each perk is, we can make some educated guesses based on their designs. It seems likely that the first image, of a soldier climbing a ladder, is the Dexterity perk....

Confirmed to arrive on May 20, the Die Hard and Rambo skins will see the films’ two leads brought to life inside the game. Like Leatherface and Jigsaw from last year’s Haunting of Verdansk, these are fully licensed characters as opposed to tributes. As such, they will include the likeness of the actors, with the faces of Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone being seen on the icons. Unfortunately, fans do not seem too happy with the final products....

Today was a big day for this year’s COD, as today saw Treyarch release Black Ops Cold War’s first official post-launch update. This balance patch follows the impromptu MP5 nerf it added a few days ago in response to player complaints, which tried to balance the weapon by reducing its base effective damage range by 33% while slightly increasing its recoil. However, according to Treyarch’s newly-launched Trello board, these changes were “unintentionally reverted” thanks to the patch....

There was some big news about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in the recent PlayStation 5 showcase. First there was a new gameplay trailer, allowing fans a deeper look at the upcoming title, followed by a surprising announcement. The Alpha of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be available to all PlayStation 4 owners from September 18 to September 20. As a bonus, those who take part will unlock a special item in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone....

Many Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players may not think much of the firing range, and some will never even use it, but those that do care see it as a massive step-down from what came before. Dr Disrespect was especially displeased with what was on offer, criticizing the system heavily before deleting the game. He also pointed to footage from Deadrop, his own game studio’s FPS, as proof that Infinity Ward’s latest firing range is unacceptable....

While cheating has been a very common issue in recent Call of Duty games, many players likely expected the issue to be minimized thanks to the addition of Activision’s Ricochet anti-cheat system. For whatever reason, that doesn’t seem to be the case as Modern Warfare 2 beta players have been finding their matches to be ruined by hackers using tools like aimbot for perfect headshots or wall hacks to see where players are at all times....

“This afternoon [Sunday] at about 12:05 pm Officer Lemmon made a traffic stop on E/B 580 at 150th Avenue for traffic violations. A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded a fully loaded AR-15 concealed in a bag in the backseat of the vehicle,” San Leandro Police noted in a Twitter thread. “The AR-15 had a 50 Round Drum Magazine with one bullet in the chamber. We also recovered an “It” Clown Mask and marijuana in the vehicle....

Officer Jonathan Diaz, 31, died after Ramiro Trevino Jr. shot him as well as his father Ramiro Trevino Sr. at a home in East Hanford, California, on Saturday night, authorities said. Kings County Sheriff’s Office said Trevino Jr. took his own life after shooting both men multiple times in his residence. Trevino Sr., 58, was in critical condition in hospital, Kings County Sheriff David Robinson said during a news conference on Sunday....

Governor Gavin Newsom enacted the measure in February, and the California Franchise Tax Board is sending payments to eligible recipients on a rolling basis. The stimulus plan requires people to file their 2020 tax return, even if they normally don’t have to file, and the sooner they file their taxes the sooner they’ll receive their payment. Those who filed their tax return before April 23 may have already received their payment....

Harris released several videos and statements Sunday morning to make her official endorsement of Biden, citing several times the grave importance of needing to defeat President Donald Trump in November. Harris, who dropped out of the presidential primary race in early December, is just the latest Democratic presidential rival to throw her support behind Biden over the past few weeks. She joins Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, billionaire Michael Bloomberg and former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke in endorsing the so-called moderate candidacy of Biden....

Governor Gavin Newsom made the comparison on his Twitter account yesterday, trying to put the sheer scope of the damage into perspective, while revealing authorities are now battling more than 620 fire outbreaks—with 17 considered major. “Over 1.2 million acres burned (nearly size of Grand Canyon),” he tweeted. “Thank you to all the states that have offered mutual aid to help CA battle these historic fires.” It is difficult to picture the scale of the fire outbreaks that have been raging in the state for the past week, claiming the lives of seven and forcing hundreds of thousands of people to evacuate their homes to evade rapidly-spreading flames and smoke....

By early May, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) reported at least 9,392 acres burned since the start of the year—more than three times the five-year average Cal Fire reported over the same time period in previous years. The number of acres burned so far this year exceeded 13,900 when combined with the number of burned acres reported by Cal Fire’s partner agencies. Experts note that wildfires existed long before humans inhabited California, but California’s drought conditions play a significant role in them....

Federal prosecutors have alleged that Andrea Gervais, who worked at the state’s Employment Development Department (EDD) until 2018, successfully scored thousands of dollars by using Feinstein’s name. The allegation was disclosed in a newly unsealed federal criminal complaint, which said a U.S. senator’s identity was fraudulently used for insurance claims. According to Politico, a source with direct knowledge of the investigation confirmed that it was Feinstein, a Democratic senator from the state....

These big changes are perhaps why the game’s developer, Treyarch, has set up the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta. With multiplayer being such a draw to Call of Duty and with the series also having such a huge eSports scene as well, many CoD fans are jumping at the chance to test out the online modes ahead of the game’s November release. The beta first went live on PS4 (per Sony’s partnership with Activision, giving PlayStation players access to Call of Duty content early) and this morning, it was scheduled to begin on Xbox One....

One of the pieces of information is the Double XP that is on the way very soon for Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players. Double XP is a great time for players to progress quickly through the Battle Pass, complete challenges, and more, and players can look forward to that this weekend.
