There were no details provided about the specifics, but Activision and Treyarch have now confirmed that Season 1 will bring new maps, modes, and weapons. The new modes also extend to Cold War’s Zombies, which is a good sign for fans hoping for additional Zombies updates in the future....

Throwing knives are a lethal equipment in Modern Warfare 2, and allow players to instantly kill enemies with a successful hit. Players only get one knife though, and the throwing knives tend to be less easy to land a hit with over long distances, making long-range knife kills rarer. While Modern Warfare 2 does have ultimate perks, none of them give players the ability to throw self-guided knives, so this kill happened through sheer luck....

The man, whom the paper identified as Chad Little, helped his family prepare to evacuate as the LNU Lightning Complex Fire sped toward their home last week. When it came time to leave, Little, who told the paper he lost a previous family home five years ago, chose to stay and battle the blaze himself. Little said he felt confident in his firefighting efforts until the water in his area shut off, according to The Reporter....

California is currently in the second stage of its reopening plan “where retail (curbside and delivery only), related logistics and manufacturing, office workplaces, limited personal services, outdoor museums, child care, and essential businesses can open with modifications,” the state government notes on its website. “Limit time outside the home and travel only for permissible activities, such as healthcare, food, outdoor exercise and recreation (individuals and households only)” the state government advises....

Three weeks ago, California announced that it was following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and recommending mask wearing when indoors for all individuals, regardless of their vaccination status. California now requires masks for all people regardless of vaccination status on all public transit, indoors at K-12 schools, and in emergency shelters. In an update on Wednesday evening, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) confirmed that four new wildfires had started in the state, with the Airola Fire in Calaveras County the worst, having already destroyed 700 acres by the end of the day. The South Fire, which sparked in San Bernardino County on Wednesday, has so far destroyed 500 acres, while the Westward Fire in Riverside County and the Bennett Fire in Nevada County have burned 200 and 59 acres respectively....
